IDE (INTRACOM Defense Electronics) has been engaged in the development and production of defense electronics and communications systems for the Hellenic Armed Forces and the international market since 1992. In January 1st 2006, IDE became an independent company that evolved from the defense sector of INTRACOM and carries on all the related activities.
Today the main areas of IDE's interests are: Tactical Communications, Data Links and Telemetries, Information Security, Homeland Security and Hybrid Power Systems. In all these areas, IDE develops and produces advanced products and systems that meet the operational needs of its customers. IDE's products portfolio includes tactical communication systems, encryption devices, command, control & communication systems, missile electronic systems (data links and telemetries), surveillance, reconnaissance and security systems, hybrid electric power and electric energy storage systems, testing support equipment etc. The company invests continuously on new technologies in these fields to ensure a leading position in the international scene.
IDE participates in joint multinational R&D and production programs, in cooperation with major international defense system companies, for new systems and technologies (development and production of the ESSM and IRIS-T missiles, development of the IRIS-T SL missile, mid-term modernization of the NATO AWACS aircraft etc.)
Moreover, IDE expands its international partnerships through co-production programs with the leading manufacturers, resulting in the company's participation in the implementation of state of the art electronics for Air-defense Systems, Aircraft Self-Protection Suites, Weapon Systems Electronics, Radars and Electro-optics.
Through its participation in Hellenic and international defense programs, IDE has achieved high levels of local added value and supports the Hellenic industrial sector by allocating considerable supply contracts to local subcontractors.
